The project is located in Dongjiakou Economy Development Zone, adopting double membrane technology for seawater desalination developed by OriginWater. The phase 1 has achieved a treatment capacity of 100,000m3/d, which has greatly addressed the water shortage problem large scaled companies’ water consumption and west coastal areas of Qingdao. The project is the first large scaled seawater desalination plant project independently designed and constructed by Chinese companies, signifying a significant breakthrough in seawater desalination in China, offering strategic technical support for addressing China’s fresh water shortage.
